One of my favorite things about running this blog is that it forces me to get outside everyday and exercise creativity behind the lens. I usually take photos in the woods so it is a time for me to reconnect with nature and get some fresh air while playing with my camera. I think it is especially important to go outside in the winter because it is so much easier to make excuses to stay in. After too many days of staying in with the longest jaunt being across the parking lot to get to work, I feel cooped up and antsy. Today was crisp and sunny outside. My nose ran a little bit while taking photos and my hands were a little numb towards the end of my shoot but I felt refreshed. I think that being outside nourishes us in a way that we can never get at home in front of a screen. If you have time today, properly bundle up and go for a walk. When you get home, warm up with something hot to drink and feel the reward of pushing yourself outdoors in spite of the cold.
