Call me old fashioned, but I just love roses. While this year's floral trends lean towards ferns and wildflowers (which I also adore), I have a hard time walking past a bouquet of roses on sale without bringing them home with me. When I was younger, the donuts in the grocery store used to call my name; now it's always, always the flowers. Rose blooms make me swoon with their timeless romance and if I choose to indulge myself on them, arranging fresh flowers in my room inspires me to clear cluttered surfaces and tidy up my living space. The soft petals poking from a glass jar give my mind permission to wander and quiet down amidst all the week's more hectic moments.
